I received a text message from an old friend that she wanted to call to ask a few question pertaining to what I am learning currently. I obliged and she called and she spends almost half and hour talking and asking questions. Off course I answered all her questions and off course she was satisfied but I answered based only on my knowledge (which is not that much) but what I liked is not my conversation with her but rather her statement to me.
Prior to my conversation with her I was talking to my colleague pertaining to the stressful life in business waving off materialistic vultures. All of the sudden this friend of mine call and express her valuable experience to me. At first I thought Allah SWT gave her inspiration for her to call me so that she could learn but after listening to her I finally realize it was the other way around. I learned from this person who don’t even know how to recite the Quran and who is a converter. How amaze I am with Allah SWT in educating me that knowledge in Islam or Allah SWT could be derived from a person who is new in this religion. I told her that I don’t even hear this from any Muslim lady and to be able to hear it from her was amazing.
She derives this Iman (how I see and call it) after being in a worst state financially and emotionally (after being alone). She had to walk to the office and get a bus and life was really tough on her. I expected it’s worse than what she portraits to me. Anyway, she follows the teachings of Islam whenever she can or whenever someone was kind enough to take her along. PERKIM’s muallaf side conducts it and it helps a person like her who wants to learn. Anyway, after going through with a few of these activities she found that her attraction and eagerness to find out about Allah SWT increases day by day.
Firman Allah SWT di dalam Al-Hadith Al-Qudsi:
“Hai manusia, kamu semua berada di dalam kesesatan kecuali mereka yang Aku berikan taufiq dan hidayah kepadanya. Oleh itu mintalah hidayah daripada-Ku.”
“Hai manusia, kamu semua lapar, kecuali mereka yang aku berikan makan, oleh itu mintalah rezeki daripada-Ku.”
“Hai manusia, kamu semua telanjang kecuali mereka yang Aku berikan pakaian. Oleh itu mohonlah pakaian daripada-Ku.”
After more than 3 years being patient and pious, she finally spoke to me about the matter... yes I was also the person who encourages her to convert but I didn’t follow thru like give encouragement. I like so many others forgot the responsibilities as an introducer to Islam and abundant these people.
She told me she would really like to learn everything about Islam but she can’t because no one could provide such things to her but she is still looking. She constantly prayed and asks Allah SWT for help and indeed Allah SWT listens. She did what she knows and kept constantly reciting (dzikir) Allah SWT’s name and all the dzikir she knows. Until she feels more and more as though Allah SWT listens to her and she manage to solve all her problems including her personnel affairs, which to me is the hardest thing to do but she manage.
Sheikh Abul Qasim Al-Junaid Al-Baghdadi a student and a teacher of Tasawwuf Classical Sufi scholars have defined Sufism as "a science whose objective is the reparation of the heart and turning it away from all else but God”.
I am proud of her though and wish all Muslim Ladies could be like that. She cried whenever she mentioned Allah SWT’s name and how much she loves Allah SWT and she couldn’t go on one day without mentioning the name of Allah SWT once. I am speechless because this is a person who was born Christian and face a bad experience with the Malay Community but she manage to keep herself in Islam although her Christian family wants her back. She defies all odds and survives with ALLAH SWT’s HELP. Most importantly, I know she appreciates and loves Allah SWT and Islam because of her status “a converter”. We on the other hand a born Muslim most of the time take Allah SWT and Islam for granted and wait until to the last inch of our lives to repent. Although, it’s not proper for a lady to be talking to another man (issue of maharam) but I thank Allah SWT as the motivation comes in a very weird way but it is very inspirational and an eye opener. Who are we to defy Allah SWT for Allah SWT the most knowing.
Surah Al Fatir
And it is Allah, who sends the winds, and they stir the clouds, and we drive them to a dead land and give life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness. Thus is the resurrection. 35:09
Whoever desires honor [through power] - then to Allah belongs all honors. To Him ascends good speech, and righteous work raises it. But they who plot evil deeds will have a severe punishment, and the plotting of those - it will perish. 35:10
And Allah created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop; then He made you mates. And no female conceives nor does she give birth except with His knowledge. And no aged person is granted [additional] life nor is his lifespan lessened but that it is in a register. Indeed, that for Allah is easy. 35:11
And not alike are the two bodies of water. One is fresh and sweet, palatable for drinking, and one is salty and bitter. And from each you eat tender meat and extract ornaments, which you wear, and you see the ships plowing through [them] that you might seek of His bounty; and perhaps you will be grateful. 35:12
He causes the night to enter the day, and He causes the day to enter the night and has subjected the sun and the moon - each running [its course] for a specified term. That is Allah, your Lord; to Him belongs sovereignty. And those whom you invoke other than Him do not possess [as much as] the membrane of a date seed. 35:13
If you invoke them, they do not hear your supplication; and if they heard, they would not respond to you. And on the Day of Resurrection they will deny your association. And none can inform you like [one] Acquainted [with all matters]. 35:14
O mankind, you are those in need of Allah, while Allah is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy. 35:15
If He wills, He can do away with you and bring forth a new creation. 35:16
And that is for Allah not difficult. 35:17
